Who We Are

We're Joe and Emma, roasting coffee in Fort Worth, Texas. The whole process fascinates us — from the coffee cherry to the roast to your morning cup. Our Approach

Let the coffee speak for itself.

We source beans from producers whose work we respect — farms that prioritize quality, sustainability, and fair practices. Our roasting approach is restrained and intentional: we develop each profile to reveal the coffee's natural character, not to mask it. Light enough to taste the origin, developed enough to be approachable.

We hope you enjoy every cup.

From sourcing to roasting to your morning pour, we care about every step. Nothing makes us happier than knowing someone's day started a little better because of what we do. Thanks for being part of this.

About Beneficio San Diego

Beneficio San Diego is one of Costa Rica's most innovative wet mills, located in the renowned Tarrazú growing region. The mill is known for its meticulous honey processing — carefully controlling the amount of mucilage left on the bean during drying to develop sweetness without sacrificing clarity. The Tarrazú region's high altitude and ideal climate produce coffees with exceptional brightness and complexity. This has been a staple of our lineup since the beginning.

Brewing Guide

We love this coffee as a pour-over. Use a 1:16 ratio (e.g. 20g coffee to 320g water) at 200–205°F. For espresso, pull at a 1:2 ratio — the honey sweetness really shines with a touch of milk, too.

About This Coffee

Cubulco sits in a valley surrounded by the Sierra de Chuacús mountains. The region's high altitude, volcanic soil, and distinct wet and dry seasons create ideal conditions for growing specialty coffee. Smallholder farmers here typically tend plots of just a few acres, hand-picking cherry at peak ripeness. The beans are fully washed at local community mills — depulped, fermented, and sun-dried on patios — producing a remarkably clean and sweet cup. This coffee represents the kind of honest, origin-forward quality we look for at Douglas Roasters.

Brewing Guide

This one is incredibly versatile. It's beautiful as a drip or pour-over at a 1:16 ratio. For French press, try a coarser grind and steep for 4 minutes. It also makes a rich, nutty espresso — great as an Americano or cortado.

About The Blend

The Douglas Blend is named after our family — it's the coffee we brew at home every morning. We built this blend to be the kind of coffee you can hand to anyone and they'll enjoy it: a friend who drinks it black, your mom who adds cream, or the neighbor who just wants "a good cup of coffee." The components rotate with the seasons to stay fresh, but we always aim for the same thing: a sweet, smooth, crowd-pleasing cup with enough depth to keep it interesting.

Brewing Guide

This blend is intentionally forgiving. It's great in any brew method — drip, pour-over, French press, or espresso. For drip, use a standard 1:16 ratio. For espresso, it pulls a beautiful, syrupy shot with caramel sweetness. Don't overthink it — that's the whole point.
